Services for newcomers are expanding at SACE. SACE is now offering a new pilot group for people who identify as immigrant women (trans inclusive) in partnership with the Islamic Family and Social Services Association – IFSSA.

The group, called Soulidarity, is a new, supportive education series for folks to learn about topics such as healthy relationships, consent in Canada, trauma, self-care and community care through a culturally safe lens. This is a weekly online sessions will begin every Tuesday morning starting March 2 to April 20, 2021. Details will be provided during intake. The requirements of joining Soulidarity include being able to speak English, and having other stability and supports in place (such as a counsellor, support worker, agency, community group, etc.)

Soulidarity is for women of any cultural background who immigrated to Canada or who were born in Canada and come from an immigrant family. Although this group is open to anyone who may have experienced trauma or abuse, you will not be asked for any disclosure of a history of sexual violence.

To book an intake appointment for Soulidarity, please email ac.ecasobfsctd@gnillesnuocytinummoc with your name and contact information, and we will get in touch with you.

If you have an idea for how SACE can better support newcomers (non-permanent residents, immigrants, refugees), or feedback on an experience you’ve had with SACE, we would love to hear from you. Contact us at ac.ecasobfsctd@ofni.
