The Saffron Centre is a sexual assault centre in Sherwood Park that offers help to victims of sexual assault, specializing in crisis intervention, therapy, & education on a sliding fee scale.

The University of Alberta Sexual Assault Centre

The University of Alberta Sexual Assault Centre provides a safe place on campus where unconditional support, confidentiality, respect, and advocacy are available for those affected by sexual assault. All services are free of charge, no appointment is necessary, and services are not limited to U of A students.

Bullying Helpline

The Bullying Helpline provides a 24/7 telephone service and online chat that offers resources on bullying for parents, teachers, children, and youth. Call 1.888.456.2323 or click here to access the online chat service (online chat is operational 12p-8pm daily).

Birth Control Centre

Birth Control Centre

The Birth Control Centre offers confidential services to teenage girls and women experiencing barriers to accessing birth control or other sexual health related services, including counselling, information and referrals as needed on contraception, unplanned pregnancies, pregnancy options, and safe sex practices

Mental Health Help Line

Mental Health Help Line

The Mental Health Help Line provides confidential, 24/7 telephone service for crisis intervention, information about mental health programs and services, referrals to other agencies, and advice about mental health concerns. Call 1.877.303.2642.

Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)

Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)

Specially trained nurses who provide sexual assault examination and care for individuals 14 years and older.

The Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) is a team of Registered Nurses with specialized education in sexual assault care.

STI Clinic

STI Clinic

The Edmonton Distress Line is a confidential supportive listening service that is available 24/7 if you are in distress and want to talk. Distress Line Listeners are equipped to talk about any topic that is causing you distress, including relationship troubles, mental health concerns, financial troubles, abusive/violent situations, and thoughts of suicide.

Woman’s Health Options is a clinic comprised of a team of committed medical, social work and support staff who respect the right to reproductive choice and value health promotion. ConsentED is a group of 11 individuals who are working towards a world without sexual violence. Their website is designed to start a conversation on the topic of consent, and what we all can do to end sexual violence.

Sexual Assault Voices of Edmonton (SAVE)

Sexual Assault Voices of Edmonton (SAVE)

SAVE is a broad-based coalition including educators, NGO’s, health care professionals, sexual assault counsellors, the Edmonton Police Service, and interested business and individuals. Their common goal is to reduce the incidences of alcohol facilitated sexual assaults in Edmonton by reaching those who commit it. The SAVE coalition has developed the highly acclaimed, “Don’t Be That Guy” campaign.

The Centre for Sexuality, based in Calgary, has resources for parents and guardians on stages of child sexual development, online and media safety, and how to talk to your children about sex and sexuality.

iHuman Youth Society

iHuman Youth Society supports traumatized and marginalized youth who live high-risk lifestyles by helping them find their creativity, a sense of belonging, and a sense of themselves. Young people are supported by our staff to obtain housing, get mental health and addiction support, and build on their creative strengths as artists.

The Family Law Office helps victims of family violence through its Emergency Protection Order Program (EPOP). The Emergency Protection Order Program provides clients with information and lawyers that can help them to obtain and confirm protection orders.

The Today Centre

The Today Centre

The Today Centre delivers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary response to family violence, including sexual assault. It offers a safe place for those affected by domestic violence to access timely, short-term services and support. Additionally, The Today Centre links those affected by domestic violence to medium-term and long-term services and resources in the community that further supports their quality of life.

Elder Abuse Intervention Team

The Elder Abuse Intervention Team is a collaboration of the Edmonton Police Service, The City of Edmonton Community Services, Catholic Social Services and Victorian Order of Nurses. Their mission is to prevent and respond to elder abuse by working in partnership with the community, thereby enhancing the well-being of older adults. The National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly offers a free, over the phone outreach service for older adults and persons with disabilities who are experiencing isolation, loneliness, or just want someone to talk to. Trans Lifeline is a hotline staffed by transgender people for transgender people and people who are struggling with their gender identity. This line exists to respond to whatever support needs arise.
