Alberta’s One Line for Sexual Violence

SACE has partnered with Alberta’s One Line for Sexual Violence to help provide phone, text, and chat support to all Albertans who have been impacted by sexual violence. Trained volunteers are available every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Call or text 1-866-403-8000 for support, or access the chat service by clicking on the orange “Get Support Now” button in the bottom right of the screen.  Interpretation services in over 200 languages are also available (phone calls only).

For anyone who has experienced sexual assault, whether recently or a long time ago, these lines can help by providing supportive listening and important information about sexual violence. The conversation is led by the caller, and the caller will never have to talk about anything they don’t want to talk about. Supporters can learn more about how to be there for someone, and get support for themselves around any feelings that may come up.

Please note: We always do our best to ensure that conversations are confidential, but there are some circumstances in which we may have to break this confidentiality. If it is known or suspected that anyone under the age of 18 is being hurt, Albertans are legally obligated to make a report to Child and Family Services. Additionally, if we suspect someone might harm themselves or others we may be required to reach out to authorities. In both of these instances contacting authorities is our last resort; we value and work to preserve the confidentiality of our calls.
