As a pro-choice organization, the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton is disturbed and saddened that the Supreme Court of the United States has overturned Roe v. Wade. We stand in solidarity with the American people who will face life-threatening consequences of this decision.

Though in Canada there are no laws that govern abortion, Canadians still experience barriers to receiving this vital health care service. This is especially true in rural and remote communities, and for racialized, low-income, disabled, 2SLGBTQ+, and young people.

Reproductive rights are human rights. Safe, accessible, free, and timely abortion care saves lives.

Now more than ever we need to collectively speak out and show our support for abortion rights.

If you are in a position to do so, consider donating to pro-choice organizations such as Action Canada for Sexual Health & Rights and National Abortion Federation (NAF) Canada.
